A Word About Wifi or Wifi Technology

Wifi Technology

WiFi is another name for wireless internet or wireless network, this term is widely used by uneducated users who are able to access the internet wirelessly, they know nothing more than that. WiFi is basically a short form of wireless reliability. However, most advanced users are unfamiliar with the name, and it is better known as Wifi. WiFi name is written in many ways namely, Wifi, WiFi, WIFI, Wi-Fi fiwi etc. You can also find the wifi extender vs mesh debate coming up under the alternate names and spelling for wifi.

Wi-Fi introduced by the Wi-Fi Alliance in 1985 was a time when it was not used commercially but was only set up by certain organizations for testing purposes. The Wi-Fi Alliance is a pioneer in the development of WiFi technology and all the hardware associated with Wi-Fi is highly ensured by the compatibility of the Wi-Fi Alliance. Wifi was later developed and eventually developed for public use in the USA in the 90s, gradually wifi became the standard for many computer communications in countless organizations around the world

Wifi uses all networks that refer to any type of 802.11 network standards set by the IEEE. IEEE is a short form of the Institute of Electrical and Electrical Engineering. There are many enhancements made to 802.11 and 802.11a, 802.11b, and two other networks. The latest rate for 802.11 families is 802.11y. Other well-known standards are 802.16, these are the upcoming technology standards known as WiMax. There is one set of well-known Ethernet standards known as IEEE 802.3.

The growth of Wifi networks continues to be global and this huge growth raises security issues. Wi-Fi is the most widely used network in the world and many organizations transmit their sensitive data using wireless networks. Increased use of wireless networks increases the potential security risks for users or the organization. The wireless network carries information of all kinds, which can be standard data with pieces of information or encrypted or very sensitive. WiFi security method ensures a certain level of data reliability and privacy as the wireless network provides. However, if proper security measures are not taken seriously attackers can attack the network and can cause serious damage not only to the network but also to the privacy of users as well.

Sometime in the past links were utilized to interface different PCs together. Computer hardware such as routers, hubs, switches, etc. as required for inter-computer communication, but Wi-Fi has brought about a high-tech change in computer communication by providing wireless connectivity features. It keeps things very simple without much hassle and networks can be made much easier. No cables required. Wireless networks keep the environment clean and tidy. There are many other features of Wireless LANs for example high-speed connections. Wi-Fi provides high-speed connectivity and fast communication where cables are not possible to set an example in remote locations. The list of Wi-Fi features is a long list of other major features including Site Surveys, business-class tools, unstructured systems, VPN compatibility, flexible authentication methods, visitor satisfaction, end-user mobility, and easy access via Hotspots.

WiFi supports two different types of modes; they are known as infrastructure and one has an ad. In Ad hoc, wireless communication can be made without a central device called a router or access point. Many network administrators prefer the ad over the infrastructure mode. Ad hoc but it has problems too. Wifi devices connected using Ad hoc mode provide minimal security for unauthorized users. Ad hoc mode configured devices cannot disable SSID streaming unlike infrastructure mode, this brings hackers to operation, and using ad hoc mode is not too difficult to overcome on a wireless network. There are two major differences between the two methods and the rate at which they transmit data. Female network 802.11g requires Ad hoc communication mode to support 11Mbps bandwidth unlike 54Mbps data transmission is supported using infrastructure mode. Ad hoc mode is therefore considered to be slower than infrastructure mode.

Wireless networks are increasing everywhere; the whole organization installs it if it has not used it before. Some cities actually provide wifi for the whole city and turn the city into a smooth place, a great example before us in Chicago. Chicago has installed a large, large-capacity Wi-Fi transmitter that broadcasts Wireless LAN radio signals throughout the city. It provides the fastest and cheapest internet connection. Laptops, desktop computers, PDAs, and other installed Wireless LAN card devices can access the network and gain speed connection while on the go. WiFi users are increasing day by day so its hardware manufacturers are producing products on a large scale. These products are readily available in the market at a low cost. Laptops, PDAs, motherboards of the latest desktop computer come in handy, and wireless LAN cards. If it is not already installed on your laptop one can buy a PCMCIA wifi card to install it to access the wireless network. Wifi PCI cards are widely available in the market. USB wifi is now available for a short distance but it works well.

Smart routers are available in the market that works to connect different devices to wireless networks. These switches can be arranged with or without a PC. All it takes is to connect the internet cable to Ethernet or the USB port to the appropriate router port. Where the Internet is available on routers it can be configured using its control panel using IP 192.168.1.1. This is where we can allow SSID streaming or disable it and perform other functions. PCs can also be connected to the most advanced management routers that can be routed. PCs are very much needed for use where the network is large and maintaining and maintaining its integrity and stability is very important.

In this modern era, everyone wants everything wireless, Wifi belongs to the family of wireless technology. There are many more wireless technologies that have emerged over time and Wifi is now being taken for granted and the world is now talking about an advanced and advanced wireless network known as WiMax. WiMax beats Wi-Fi technology on many bases including speed through data transfer, the scope of interconnected communication, and much more. Now we have to see how long WiMax will last on WiFi, and what technology will eventually take over WiMax. One thing is that the latest wireless technology will continue to come and will continue to be ignored.
